Training
With a novel, breakthrough approach, the Ketamine Training Center workshop program is designed for experienced professionals who already have mastery in their respective fields (medicine, psychiatry, psychology, nurses, hospice, and palliative care) and who are interested in providing treatment in the context of a joint collaboration of medical and psychological skill sets to create a team approach for delivering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
The heart of the Ketamine Research Foundation’s work to establish Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) as the leading organization to train practitioners interested in establishing KAP practices. Beginning in early 2018, The Ketamine Training Center began its series of intensive 4-day (now 6 day) programs introducing practitioners to the didactics of KAP and the experience of ketamine in the two formats we utilize in KAP—sublingual lozenges and intramuscular injections.
As ketamine is a Schedule 3 substance and must be prescribed and overseen by licensed medical professionals that include MDs, DOs, Naturopathic Physicians, and FNPs. Team building is essential. In our workshops, there have been many participants coming from different medical fields—other than psychiatry—who are evolving into KAP practitioners and adapting KAP and ketamine work to their various practices.
We have arranged with PeerPoint Medical Education Institute to provide a certificate of training for each participant after the conclusion of each training. This will provide 30 AMA Category I credits which are applicable to both medical practitioners and therapists—acceptable to licensing boards in over 40 states, (please confirm with your State Licensing Board if you have a questions).
The KAP psychotherapeutic context is extended and ongoing and occurs within a nest, encouraging trust and new behavior. Awakening mind—consciousness–is an essential aspect of anchoring change and knowing Self. KAP training encourages and assists in the development of this awareness in practitioners and supports therapeutic work with skill and process acquisition and development.
The Ketamine Training Center is the premier organization having provided training to over 800 practitioners in our 6-day residential retreat events. With more programs planned for 2023 in various locations across the world, we will have trained therapists, nurses, naturopathic physicians, and other disciplines bringing together individuals to function as teams and clinics.
